Delaying Victory for Achievements?

Hi,

Do you ever do it?

I am currently playing a game on a Continents Std map. I have taken over my entire continent, and two of the 4 remaining Civs have lost their capitals, meaning that I only need to take out two other capitals (which I could do easily) to win Domination.

However, I'm going for the 'Completely explore the Autocracy Policy track' and only just opened it up. So, I'm going to just maybe take out one other Civ and make sure I get the achievement.

Do you guys ever do this?

Cheers.

You should still be able to get the achievements after you win with one more turn. You can't win by a different victory after winning one way though.

Can you not get achievements if you choose the "one more turn" option after winning?

You can reload back to before the victory and go for a different one. I currently have the Utopia project waiting to be built. I have one last part of the space ship to finish. I can start the United Nations at any time. I have 2 1/2 policies to go through to get all of the trees finished. It is in the Settler difficulty, and I was trying to get all of the English boats sunk in one game. I am England on a huge Terra map playing against China, England, and Russia. I started out in Southern Egypt. England started out in Moscow. Russia started out in Beijing. And China started out on the Candian/American border in the midwest. I chose Settler, because it has it's own acheivments and I did not want the AI to get a victory before I could possibly get to all at the same time. I like long drawn out games and other than going through 2 patches that now make me reload the game 3 times in one turn, it has been fun. I have not tried it, but I could probably take all of the capitals, but will probably save that one for another game. China just did the Manhatten Project, so It might get interesting.

Delaying Victory for Achievements?
A contradictory question. For the Autocracy thing select the appropriate advance era start, found your capitol and take the 3-4 policies in autocracy right away. It won't take long to get the rest. Victory for achievements is not needed.
