diluting power

I was playing Civ HOF Gauntlet 2, when some of the civ was expanding too fast. i decided to invade 1 continent and give away the useless cities to other civ( or sell it for 100 gold).

I wish i could keep the city i took from them but my happiness doesn't allow me to =/. i wonder if you guys will still attack even when everyone is peaceful and there isn't much of a point to attack other than to reduce their military and economy ?

100 gold? Why not give him your whole empire while you're at it? You can sell cities for 1-2.5k easy, more on slower speeds. If they dont have enough money/GPT then grab as many of his Luxuries as you can in the deal. On Epic they are worth 450g a piece.

Yesterday i was able to take only 1 city in a war across the continent. Made peace, put on the full retreat, sold it to Russia for 1.5k on standard. Was a crap city that they promptly burned to the ground...an expensive fire if you ask me.
