Hello
Can some body help me to find how to establish the Alliance or defensive Pact and so on.
I do not have those items on the list of option to choose.

I would like to establish defensive pact with my 'neighbour', but I can't

You have to start with a custom game. In the custom game menu you have the option to check ' permanent alliances'. If you do this you can get them in game, but it's not a cake walk.

You need to be friendly with them (?) or pleased, and have had a defensive pact for a few turns. Permanent alliances are allowed once you have researched fascism or communism, so it comes later in the game.

Another idea is to go to the strategy articles forum and then use the 'search this forum' button. Search permanent alliances. There are some good articles on the in's and out's of it.

Yeah umm.. i read that it's faster and easier to get them to perm alliance you if you have a common war opponent ('Mutual Military Struggles') compared to if you only operate a defensive pact which takes longer.

In this game I'm playing I permanently allied with Brennus and it took me from the middle of the scoreboard to the top! (cause the points were added i think). I bribed him to declare war on Washington from the near beginning and then followed suit.

Then Brennus would make peace with Washington at regular intervals.
So whenever he made peace with Washington I did as well and just asked for a Defensive Pact, then declared war again (bribing again), making peace, defensive pact, declaring war.... etc etc etc..
