For some reason, after a while, horses, cattle, and elephants tend to vanish though their shadows remain and the tile indicates the resource exists. I do see them for a while though. Any thoughts? No other resources do this.
I've seen this with all types of animals, though it's strangely inconsistent. It never seems to happen before I improve the resource, but sometimes they remain visible for ages afterwards, and sometimes they disappear within a few turns. I've only noticed this since I downloaded the 1.52 patch.
Speaking of this, I haven't seen any animals at all since the 1.09 patch. It's kind of annoying having to highlight shadowed squares just to see what's there.
Try freezing animations under graphics options, they will appear for a while but usually disappear again. I click the icon in the lower right corner (a "?" in a bubble) This will show a picture of the animal in a bubble pointing at it. Its not a fix but better than having to move your mouse over it.
