Discussion For The Creation Of An Atlantis Mod

I was thinking about an Atlantis mod, a total conversion of the textures.

I think it would be possible, but the way the map presents itself would be worth consideration. Do you add land anywhere on the map, like water is on a normal map, or should land be totally non existant?

This in itself could take you forever. Unit animations are very hard to obtain, and if your units will only work right in your mod, then people will hesitate to make them.

As for the map problem, you could go on the sparsest archapelago option, but that limits land to build. Were you thinking of making underwater cities etc? If so, then you could alter the name and images of every piece of terrain (i.e. Plains becomes coral reef, Mountains to water volcano, etc) and make all the units and cities look as if underwater. That would be extremely cool, and extremely time consuming. However, if you complete it, it would definately be worth the time.

That is just my opinion anyway.
