Dom or Hist?

I am almost certain I have had it happen here in Vanilla. Not sure I have any saves of that though.

A long time has passed since I posted the OP and I think I am not going to play this as a hist game. Although I have a breathtakingly fast development the dom limit is simply too low.
As of now the game date is 820AD and my current score is 12907 pts with an increase of 278 ppt and an internal per turn score of 67395. I have already more than one hundred metroes, pollution strikes about 12-15 times per turn and global warming is taking its toll already. I've been at the dom limit now for about 20 turns or so, currently have approximately 3200-3300 of a maximum 3550-3580 happy laborerers (sea tiles should balance out city centers) and I have more than 1000 specialist. So I am close to being maxed out, and no matter how toss and turn it I don't think I'll get an internal per turn score of more than 79K which would barley suffice for 55K points at best.
I think I'll play along till about 1000-1050 AD with a score goal of 25K for a domination victory in mind. If this works out, and the game is accepted and I am not entirely misunderstood, then Tone is going to lose his No. 1 Pentathlete spot.
So, not a bad consolation prize for me. And ...

It is a fairly low dom limit for an archipelago map. For a pangea, however ... it is just overkill. I don't think there are any differences between Vanilla and C3C wrt to the dom limits.

Obviously I read your thread before, but I guess it's just dawning on me how incredibly fast you reached the DL. 3500+ tiles by ~600AD is astounding. Since I'm going for a histo entry myself, I'm happy to hear you're going another route.
Good luck with your new game too. Hopefully I can finish mine before you shatter my dreams of #1. This thread's game certainly would have kicked my butt if you had a higher DL. FWIW, I think you made the right call. I am confident I would outscore you as my DL is just over 4300.
