This scenario represents 6 basic ethnicities of the "Old World".

(1) The Western Civilization
(2) The Russians
(3) The Middle East
(4) The Indians (India)
(5) The Orientals
(6) The Africans

Leaders:

(1) Alexander
(2) Joseph Stalin
(3) Osama Bin Laden
(4) Gandhi
(5) Mao Zedong
(6) Hannibal

The Continents:

Europe - Has most critical resources except for oil and uranium. May clash with Africa, Middle East or Russia for oil.

Eurasia (Russia) - Has all critical resources. Rich in oil. Has uranium.

Middle East - Rich in oil. May clash with Russia, Western Civilization, or India for critical resources.

India - Extremely rich in fish and food, also has elephants. May clash with Middle East or China for critical resources. May clash with China or Russia for oil.

The Orient - Rich in fish and food. Has all critical resources. May clash with India or Russia for oil.

Africa - Has all critical resources. Elephants of course. Oil is in north Africa. South Africa is rich in gems and some uranium.

The New World - The "New World" is unexplored and uninhabited with no barbarians. Continent is covered in resources. Alaska rich in oil, but is in harsh locations. Some oil in Texas, Gulf of Mexico, and Venezuela. Uranium found in Rocky Mountains.

No barbarians on this map
Western Civilization starts off being at war against Africa & Middle East.
All starting cities have population of 1, except for Delhi & Beijing which start with 3.
Galleys cannot cross to "New World" from "Old World". Requires improved naval units.

Final Notes: I wanted to play a map that focuses on the main ethnicities of the "Old World", which then turns into a race to colonize the "New World". This is the final product.

This is the same basic map and premise I based mine off of, with a few changes. Mine is a bit more accurate with terrain in resource placement IMHO. Also, it's a HUGE balance issue having one civ start with 5 cities and one start with 1, so on my version, there is only one start point for each civ. Hope this helps!

It's nice to see somebody that understands that the Civs in Civ4 are not civilizations per se, but simply nations that make up civilizations. The only exception could be China, which is so big and so old it is a nation/civ.

Not sure, and I don't have a problem with it, but it might offend some people that Osama Bin Laden is the Middle Eastern leader. Nice map and idea though.

The civilizations you picked are excellent. Aesthetically, the leaders need changing (no offense.) While your grouping of several nations into the general civilization categories is great, for one, Osama bin Laden is far from being a leader of the middle east. He's simply a terrorist; a radical. He's never even come close to being a great leader. IMHO, Saladin or Mohammed are much better choices.

It's also funny that 2 of the 5 "Old World" leaders are communist, but that's more up to you. I'd recommend picking one of the prominent Chinese emporers (e.g. Kangxi or Yongle.)

Just some ideas :P good job on the map, though.

Hey, just wanted to let you know I loved this map.
Also, while I understand people giving you a hard time about making osama a leader, there is something incredibly satisfying in burning his cities to the ground :-)

i am anxious to check it at home, i am working now. and i'm playing another map now. but by the way, your jpgs can't be seen bro.
leaders aren't chosen good. you could try to select all from the same age. i don't like the idea of a fight between alexander and gandhi...
what are the leader traits by the way? how did you manage with them? did you make any changes?
i may have more comments after i check it.
