Playing on Earth maps just like on computer generated maps. Game would start in 4000BC and follow a similar path as playing on program made up map, with a few exceptions
Suggest dividing Earth based maps into 6:
1. The Americas
2. Asia
3 Middle East
4 Europe
5 Africa
6 Oceania
Rules:
No great wonders allowed, each nation only builds the wonders they actually build in reality.
You'd play the game just like any other game but on selected actual part of Earth. Standard or larger map sizes only allowed.
The Americas-included both American continents, playable nations: Mesoamerican and Native American tribes as well as US, Brasil, Mexico, Canada, perhaps more, also Caribbean tribes and nations.
The nations founded by the Europeans would follow the European building and units tree while native tribes would have their own-separate units and buildings available.
Europe:
From Azores islands to Ural mountains, including the Caucasus and modern day Turkey and from northern tip of Sahara desert to Iceland and the Arctic sea.
Playable nations: too many to list but including ancient/classical Rome, Greece and Carthage, to Byzantium, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, England, Scotland, Ottomans, Vikings, Morocco, Austro-Hungary, Germany and Scandinavia, Poland, Celts and Galls, Portugal to Russia and Tatars or Mongols, and everything in between.
If you are not sure how to fit in for example Rome and Italy into the same game I invite you to read my thread: Grouping of nations.
Asia:
Map would include actual terrain from Ural mountains to Japan, from Siberia to Papua New Guinea, in the south from the Caspian Sea to the Phillipines.
Africa: Entire continent
Oceania: including all the islands, Australia and New Zealand
Middle East: From modern southern Bulgaria to the Indian Ocean, from Libya to the deserts of Kush(Somalia).
Each map would only have the tribes which geographically and throughout history were located there. The more ancient tribes would have an early advantage in these scenarios due to unique units being available early to them as well as ancient Wonders
Again, starting at 4000 BC on each map, no Great wonders available to all, only to nations which really built them, including all existing and new national wonders for each nation, unique units, otherwise pretty much the same game play as on any New Game.
This would work for all those liking to play on actual Earth maps, not made up ones.
