Effect of Patch on GMR games?

Does anyone know what the effect of the upcoming patch is likely to have on our GMR games?

Mel has said that he can fix it so GMR games continue to work post patch.

The modded games might be broken tough, as mods has a big tendency of not working after a patch(until the mod creator fix it)
