Error 1706 When Patching - "No valid source...'

Has anyone had the same error when installing the latest v109 patch from 2K? Does it affect anything? The patch seemed to work after the error, and I can play the game, but I wonder if it's caused damage to the installation...
 
Seems as though its ok - if it reported success on loading in the end, and if you playing ok. Worst case would be a Civ IV reload,not that painful. It does not do much else to the PC setup outside Civ directory except the directx, maybe depending on what you had already. Just keep keep an eye open, but dont have undue concerns. You will probably find it could not read a file at one point, posted error message, but found the errent file straight after.

I am glad that you said this, as I got the error myself when patching and was hoping nothing is screwed up.

I can play ...etc., but heard that some people with similar cases cannot join mutliplayer. Is this correct?
 
I called tech support today, and they told me to uninstall everything. They didn't recoginize 'Error 1706'. I uninstalled, then reinstalled fresh.... Still the same problem. I have emailed tech support now with a screenshot of the error - fingers crossed.

Anyone else have the same error code when patching to v1.09? Any problems after encountering this error?
