I just picked up Civ3 yesterday. long in in coming I know.
Anyway, on installation everything seemed fine. I hit cancel at the registeration window and got an "error 5!"
The installation seemed to finish to I tried to play the game. It tried to load (drive spins up) but then I get an XP error report box that "faulting application...faulting module ~df394b.tmp..."
So I uninstalled, search for patches and got the lates patch. I then rebooted, reinstalled the game, rebooted installed the patch, and rebooted a final time (just to be safe). I still got the same error. This time on registration I told it to remind me in two weeks and did not recieve the same error on installation.
Anyone have any ideas? I submitted it to the firaxis support, but they have a find "somewhere around 4 days or so" notice and I am eager to play.
