Feature Transfer Error - Can't Install

Hi after trying the demo of the game I have just got Civ 4 to find when I am installing it after a while I am greeted with the message Feature Transfer Error and then everything stops.

Have looked around but can't see any info regarding this. Can someone help please as I am dying to play!

I am also hav ing the same problem installing Civ 4. The second disc hangs at the very end of the installation then I get error message. I called the toll free help line he told me to return the game and get a new one there is something wrong with the 2nd disc. No help at all. Hope someone can help soon.

Unfortunately the tech support you called are probbably correct.

9 times out of 10 Feature transfer errors are caused by bad disks. Try copying the disks over to your hard drive and see if it gives the error whils copying. If so just take it back and they will exchange it for you.

I just copied the second disc to a blank cd-r and then put that into the computer and it worked thanks so much for the advise.

I had another look at all the forums and took advice I found to turn off my antivirus software and update my firmware driver. Once I found out what on earth that was I did it.

I have now managed to install the game. Once I downloaded the new patch it works perfectly.

Now I'm very happy , especially as my husband and I can play with the "hot seat" option, so we may actually see each other.
