Chieftain
Hey guys. This is my first post on the forum. Not sure if I should put this post elsewhere or if it has already been covered. I am new to civilization but one thing I've read people discuss is their discontent that the satellite tech does not reveal the entire map. I agree it is kinda stupid that in the year 2050 parts of the map are yet to be discovered. I use this tweak once I hit the modern era to reveal the entire map.
go to My Documents....then go to My Games...then open Sid Meiers Civilization 5
Next, open the "config" document
scroll down to about the 15th note and change "debugpanel = 1" to "debugpanel = 0"
finally, during gameplay press the ` key...and click "reveal all" on the menu that pops up
your map is fully revealed
When you restart civ 5 your current game will go back to how it was before you revealed the map so if you don't like revealing the map there is no need to worry.
Anytime you want to reveal the map in your future games just press the ` key again. I use this tweak once I hit the modern era in every game I play....I feel it is fair and it's nice to see how all the nations have developed.
*note* I didnt notice any slowdowns once the map was revealed but if you do I would turn down your video settings one notch*
