First modification i've ever done, suggestions wanted!

Im just started making my first modification for Civ 2 this week, i put out a rough goal to.

A) Alter the entire tech tree

B) Altering every unit

C) Modify most Wonders and City Improvements

So far i've just been working on the tech tree and im up to the late industrial period. I've already got about 90 techs and i want to make a long modern age, so can someone tell me the most techs you can get, a friend said he modified a text file to get up to about 140 techs. I also want around 15 air units, 25 sea units and 80 land units, so please tell me if i can have that many units, also what is the max amount of City Improvements and can i have more Wonders than the default?

Also any general advice would be nice. Also if anyone thinks im biting off more than i can chew, i've got help, a friend will do the graphics for me and i know Case so i'll get help from him at www.historic-battles.com (the previous statement was a shameless plug, so please go there.)

The number and effects of the wonders and city improvements are hard-coded into the game. You can change their cost and preq techs, but that's about it. I sugest that you become familiar with the rules.txt file and count the wonders and maximum numbers of units for yourself rather then relying on someone else ;)
 
I assume you are using MGE and not ToT. Suggest you just fiddle around with the in-built scenario editor tools first so get a better feel for what you can do . (I hope you are not messing around with your default files!)

Changing the units is also not easy as the sounds are hard coded to certain wav files for certain slots. Read all the reference materials we have at the main site and also the FAQ above.
