Free Anti-virus?

Are free anti-virus programs any good? Has anybody used ClaimWin? I'm sick of Norton.

well I hate Nortons. I use AVG FREE. www.grisoft.com It kicks ass. you can buy a version from them, but for the averge user free is fine. Works for me anyways.

I have only used AVG Free and it works great for me.

AVG is the best. It guard my computer since 3 months. I propose it for everyone.

ive had avg for almost a year now, the free version. IT rocks. You can also get a virus/ firewall too, evaluation to start, then you need to buy it. But it works GREAT. I have it on my work computer, my laptop, they paid for it. Im too cheap to pay for it.

totally right. I've been using AVG for years, and I have no complaints.

Well I can tell you one thing, it's not annoying and obnoxious like Norton

I'm currently using a trial version of Norton 2005. When it expires, I'll use AVG.

BTW, I have used both Avast and AVG before and I have gotten false virus reports from them. No big deal though.

Yeah I got 2 fake reports for some Java libraries during a system scan, but it didn't flip out and beg me to quarantine them or anything.
