Fun CIV glitch

I just had a great little glitch occur during a game.

I went to move a sail unit to an otherwise empty sea space. To my surprise, I destroyed an enemy unit (surprising as the space was empty), earned 100 dollars for capturing a barbarian diplomat, and apparently destroyed 8 units.

Most surprising is that I won the battle - Sails having an attack strength of 0.

Anyone else ever experience this glitch?

Most surprising is that I won the battle - Sails having an attack strength of 0.

Sail has attack of 1, not zero (Transport has 0 attack, which leads to zero generated unrest in home city).

In some cases, I have seen this on land. Enemy unit became invisible, when they were directly next to a city. I wanted to move a diplomat on a "free square" and a menu about offering the bribe appeared (and/or warning that I'm at peace with the civ, when I tried to move an attacking unit).

I'm quite surprised you got the $100 for capturing a barbarian leader, afaict you don't get that bonus when attacking a stack of barbarian units, at least not when they are on the land. Also, I have never seen 8 barbs in one boat (or one square).

Perhaps your glitch happened around "international date line" (=zero longitude), which is a region prone to erroneous behavior?

Similar situations have happened to me a few times as well.

Recently, one of my battleships entered an empty square and destroyed 10 barbarian units. When I tried to enter it again, another 6 were destroyed, thus demonstrating the 10-unit destruction limit for a single attack.

From my experience, this sort of thing may happen in remote areas, where somehow, probably because of some navigation bug, the barbarian ships tend to accumulate.
