Did your bowmen swim faster than mine, or did you go with a pure naval conquest?

I didn't swim very many bowmen, perhaps not any at all. I beelined galleass', and didn't do much conquest until I had them. Seemed like it took forever to get to Compass for them.

I rarely use galleass', because they move slowly, and they're kind of expensive to upgrade. But with Tiny Islands, the seas were so shallow one could go anywhere. Plus, by Compass I had filled out Tradition, so I took two policies in Exploration, which got more movement and much-needed happiness.
