Game crash at space victory video !

When I lunched my spacecraft the video showed a blank screen , and then the game crashed. WHat is going on?
That never happened in Civ3 it only happened in conquest (I never tried a space victory in conquest before).

Try reinstalling the game.
Check for spyware.
This hasn't been a problem for players so it must have to do with your setup.

The problem could be that the video is missing for some reason, which would explain the blank screen. If thats the case then the best thing to do is reinstall

I reinstalled the game but the broblem is still there. ALso I checked for the file race.bik and it was missing in conquest\art\movies so I copied it there , but that didnt fix the problem.
I read somewhere that this problem is related to the soundcard, I dont know if this is the problem in my case. when the video start playing I hear some corrupted sound and then the game crashes, maybe this is related to the soundcard.

I have the same problem, but I'm regular normal Civ3 (not conquests).
I've also heard of someone else having this problem on a different forum. I still don't know how to fix it, so I'm going to send a bug report to the developers.

I've sent the bug report. But for in the mean time, I've found a workaround.
If I delete (or rename) the movie, space.bik; then the game no longer crashes. Of course, I don't get to see the movie, but at least I can win the game without it crashing! Also, if I switch the intro.bik file with the space.bik file then I get to watch the space victory movie when the game starts up.
This is just a crappy workaround, but at least I can win without it crashing, and I get to see the victory clip.
