Not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes:
Am I right in thinking that if I make any alterations in the civ editor and then save them to the civ.bic file, this will affect my entire game, including any future new games I start?

The alterations I mean are changing the values of units and also creating new civs over old ones.

I never edited the game, but I think that any changes you make to the civ3mod.bic file will affect your entire game. Unless you save the file on another folder (namely, the "scenario" folder), in order to play it as a scenario. I would prefer this last option.
