Game running slower after 1.61?

The 1.52 patch worked wonderfully on my machine. Not once did I have to Alt-Tab to eliminate slowdown, the game ran so smooth throughout all the ages. It was perfect! (I did notice a change in the way the graphics looked, I think the patch really toned down the memory required for the game...)

With the 1.61 patch however, things are back to running pretty slow after some time has passed. What can I do to make it run smooth like it used to?

If you have got any mods, delete them. Many people have noticed a slowdown with the new patch caused by mods.
It might be that or the graphic settings have reset to default so you might need to set them to a lower settings.

I have no mods and I always play with the graphic settings on low...
