Game stuck on "Please Wait"

Hi,

I'm not sure if there is steam maintenance or something going on at this time, but since last night the game has been doing this every few turns. It would get stuck on "Please Wait." I am playing with 1 other friend and 4 AI's.

Any idea on what might be the case?

It happened in one of our multisession games, so we had to abandon the first game and made a new one. I guess it's related to the recent patch, which got us in between the sessions. Not sure about your case though.

It happened at turn 51. We got to that turn in 1 session. We tried reloading the game to turn 50 and it froze again at turn 51. Kept getting stuck at the same exact spot until one of us left and let the turn proceed then re-invited the other within the game to play the next turn.

Maybe the game bugged out or something? I've played other multiplayer games after the patch with my other friend and it was no problem. Could it be due to the upload speed of my friend with the problem? His upload speed is around 40 KBytes/s.
