Getting started

hey, i have some problems. i dont think i am playing the beginning of the game very efficiently.

Could someone give me some first steps what to do?

normally, i just make a village at a good spot at the coast and get some farms going and then make a second village pretty fast. sometimes its into the land sometimes it borders the sea. then i make a dock, and some other factuaring buildings. yet i think this is wrong because the other nations seem to get more liberty bells MUCH more faster. what exactly am i doing wrong?

My first priority is to get two scouts exploring immediately. There is plenty of free cash available to be picked up for whoever gets it first. I also start generating liberty bells early by putting my first colonist in the town hall. Others will tell you not to do this because it increases the size of the REF but it works for me and helps to get those early FF.

My first priority is to get two scouts exploring immediately. There is plenty of free cash available to be picked up for whoever gets it first. I also start generating liberty bells early by putting my first colonist in the town hall. Others will tell you not to do this because it increases the size of the REF but it works for me and helps to get those early FF.

And just in case anyone missed this--not only do you get goodies for being the first to ruins and burial grounds, but also by being the first to visit the chief at every native settlement.
