When i am at the edge of the map i encounter two problems:

1. i can see part of map that should be covered with fog (some appreciate this...),
2. (archipello map) some terrain becomes black;

When moving the cursor the display of the map changes between correct
and wrong. The image shows both problems:

I have that, too, but I haven't gotten around to patching yet so can't confirm it's still there for me. I assume you have an nVidia card, about MX440 or less? All of those cards had three graphic problems with v1.0 -- the edge-of-map thing, an ability to see floodplains in the fog, and problems with the way food, hammers and commerce were displayed in the map and city views. The last was supposedly fixed in the patch, but your post is the first I've seen mention of the others maybe not having been.

Forgot to mention my videocard is nVidia GF4 MX440. Only-food problem is fixed,
floodplains are still there but in the posts i never saw (overlooked?) this edge of map trouble, it's also not mentioned in Ginger Ale's buglist.

I have an edge-of-map (or is it the "seam" on the globe?) problem as well: cities are several tiles away from their title bars, depending on which part of the map is centered. This only occurs at the map edge, but it can be really annoying when there's a lot of combat going on and it's difficult to see where the cities are.

My card is a 6200.

I didn't notice the edge-of-map problem still being there when I played last night. Floodplains were, of course.

I have the same problem. I was going to post a screenshot, but I when I just went to look for the screenshot I took in-game, it was not in the folder.

I have a GeForce4 Ti 4400 and am patched to 1.09.

I sometimes can see from the north pole to the very bottom of the south pole. Especially in the Earth scenarios. It is weird. Either my scouts have incredibly good vision, the world is flat, or something freaky is going on. Also, I put a pic of it on the bug report forum. And yeah I occasionally get your problem too especially with forests.

I've had that problm too. When close to the left edge for example, I can see all terrain on the other side of the edge. When i move the camera to the other side of the edge, I can see all terrain on the right side. Maybe that's what you're describing too.

Exactly, and especially when you start a game and you see it, you know you are on the edge of the map and it spoils the game.

Take a look at the screenshot, at 4000 BC, it's immediately clear i am at the very
left edge of the map and can if i want to take advantage of the display error.

The exact same thing happens to me. Except I can see the ground under the trees.

When I look from the right side ofthe seam to the left side, the trees appear dark in my games, but when I look from the left to the right, everything is normal, except, of course, that I can see all the terrain.

I am also having this problem with cities founded on the seam of the globe.
