Hall of Fame Update

The Civilization III Hall of Fame has been updated with 35 new entries. Lulthyme registered the first HoF 20k win on the Sid level, and now holds the record for fastest 20k finish on all eight levels! Svar became the first player to cross the 40,000 point mark on Emperor. Other players who scored at number one spots include Dianthus, soxfan2003, Mad2rix, Darkness, Doc Tsiolkovski and Chamnix.

A nice little variety of games...
Just one score milking, but a very impressive one. (Svar on emperor)
I also note the 2 fastest Diplomatic victories ever, by Chamnix, hopefully can keep making more and improving them.
Better yet I think is Dianthus's fastest ever 100 K win, I would really like some ppl to try and beat that one or Chamnix's (I might try eventually )
Of course, congratulations again for Boogaboo's fast small deity conquest, still waiting for sid
He seems to have some competition for those types of games too which is always fun

I believe the 100k one will fall today or tomorrow.. in my current game I can stop building culture buildings, and I will still almost beat it... Though I think it is possible to squeeze date down to around 1000AD...

Thanks boogaboo. Not sure you're right though. There's plenty of scope for improving that date. Gyathaar mentioned that he thinks 1000AD is beatable, and I agree!

I think 1000AD is very beatable.. not sure where i will end up yet in current game (3rd attempt to beat the 1200AD date), but I believe around 1100AD give or take a turn or two (I am currently in 890AD and if I only press enter from now on I will win in 1140AD or 1150AD I think.. the last few turns I have been gaining between 100 and 150 cpt per turn)

Add the fact that I started ontop of a cow, so lost one turn in beginning before settling, and.. then I easilly lost 6-7 turns on research because I forgot about the not loosing anything for going deficit in chieftain. I also think it would be quite possible to get internet buildt around 700AD, and with ~250 cities, that would mean another 500cpt for 30 turns.

In addition a well shaped 60% archepelagio would fit a lot more cities than a pangea.. in my 2nd attempt I played on an archepalagia where it turned out my starting island was about 90% of the total land mass.. was one huge island that stretched around the entire world, and had a domination limit of more than 300 tiles more than my current pangea map. Problem was it had too much jungle making it too slow to get it all cleared so I could poprush effectively.

Nice Emporer score there Svar! Even nicer Monarch score from Kuningas! Is there any limit to how high the Monarch scores can go?!? They'll be overtaking the Demigod scores soon!


Now that the updates are back up and running, it looks like its time to blow the cobwebs of the old Civ 3 tome and embark on a few more HoF attempts
