In my one and only FF 050 game - Emperor, Flauros, Huge, 18 civs - I'm slaughtering my neighbors. I've had no problems getting the wonders I wanted. I founded the veil before any of the 7 civs i had contact with had converted (rok founded turn nr 127, leaves 234, at 245 only 3/7 religions had been founded).

It seems like the AI has fallen into a quagmire. Emperor is easy.... even if they do declare war quite often.

Is this a unique experience?

Edit: I've just had a look in worldbuilder and the world has around 2 improvements per city and 1 marine animal per 5 squares of ocean. :S

Gilg, I played my first game a level lower than I usually play FFH at Prince. When I gave up on the game (due to MAFs), I was in 5th place in score and not doing so well. It seemed to me that the AI civs were expanding rapidly. None had been wiped out by barbs as is often the case. Also, there were a lot more GPs for the AI and that had to help them.

Try a second game and see what happens. That's what I am going to do.

The AI seem to have problems getting further than linking its resources and cities together..... At least in relation to orbi. Orbi emp. workers seems to be at least 4x efficient.

And at emp. the AI NEEDS to have building requirements bypassed..... SOOOOOO many warriors.

The AI is plain, simply, incopetent. Cannot preform the simplest actions, sometimes. There was a Calabim scout in my last game, 1 square from a tribal village. It took my Velitites(playing as Scions) 5 turns to reach the tribal village(Velites are the Scion's scouts, and have only one MP), and in the meantime they went 1 square forward, 1 backwards, without moving on the village...
(Monarch difficulty, huge map, standart time)
