Hear of any good TB space strategy games?

Can any of you guys recommend a GOOD turned base strategy game that takes place in space. I've heard that moo3 was awful, but I have not noticed any other space games that compare to the greatness of moo1 and moo2. Suggestion...

Try the MOOJR scenario in CivII. MOO3 isn't all that bad, it's basically Civ with spaceships, kinda...

EDIT: If you're willing to go 'old school' you can't beat Star Control.

MOO3 is a terrible game - go for Galactic Civilizations, or Imperium Galactica 2

I've tried MooJr, it's pretty much the same as Moo2. I get the impression that moo3 is very confusing, and Star Con was a great game but does not run on XP systems. Not really sure Star Con would be considered a strategy game...

Isn't Alpha Centuri by Sid Meier turn based? I thought it was anyway. I hear it is good because it by our chum Sid Meier who made Civ.

IG 2 got the best music ever created in the history of history itself. Rest of the game is boring, but the music alone is good enough reason for getting it.

Europa Universalis 2 is great. It's not techinically TB but it feels alot like it. Plenty of pausing defenatly more like a TBS then RTS.

Alpha Centauri is definitely good. And with Civ Fantastic Worlds (i think) comes a scenario called Mars or something. It's good.
