Help! I need the greatest game of all time

Dear all fellow civ fanatics,

I am currently searching frantically for Civilization II, the one with the real world map. Can anyone let me know where can I find it in Singapore, for purchase, downloads or maybe you guys can burn one for me and I pay for it. Pls help.

I've seen it for sale at Amazon and Chips&Bits. I don't know if they ship to Singapore, but that would be a good place to start.

Any version of Civilization can be upgraded to the MGE standard (lots of FW mps, plus all teh scenarios). You just need Cedric Greene's patch (see the Civ 2 Tech Support Forum)... so all you must do is find even the Civ 2 Classic (in a CD jewel case, with no box), and then you're set.

Also, you might check auction sites like eBay.

Fortunately for you that you couldn't find that link, because posting links to abandonware sites is illegal at CFC and would have got you a ban.
Luke, I really hope that you can get hold of a copy of Civ 2 but not from an abandonware site!

I'll keep it in mind...
I thought that "warez" means "piracy" when I read the forum policy. I now assume it's a nickname for abandonware.

Where can I find a thorough definition of the term ?

Warez = Piracy = Illegal software

Abandonware = No official definition, there is NO SUCH THING AS ABANDONWARE, even if some sites try to tell you otherwise.
The copyright on software expires at earliest after 20 years, depeding on the countries legislation. So no PC game falls under that category.

Getting a copy of Civ2 can be really hard as most shops would rather sell you Civ3 because they can charge you more for it!

You can also frequently find it at 2nd hand places, like Computer Renaissance, Half-Price Books (a used book store in the US), and Flea Markets.

As far as I know KaZaa is legal so its ok.

I think

Singapore is a problem to find it in a shop.You are very limited in options.And online is no good as no one will ship outside of US because of distribution rights.

Kazaa not legal though quite useful. But if you want a legal copy try http://www.free-cdsoftware.com/ . Says they deliver worldwide.
