Help me with the editor!

Each time I enter the editor, I get this message:
Unable to locate Civilization III. Make sure it is installed properly and try again
Abort Retry Ignore

I have Vanilla.
Another problem: no map or scenario from this site (even if it is made for Vanilla) works on my computer. I get the message that the files are corrupt.

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it?

Are you trying to run the editor from the CD?

I have a similar problem. I have tried to access the editor via atari/civilization III complete/conquests/Civ3ConquestsEdit.exe (on my hard disk), but i get the following ERROR message: Could not open file: Art\units\palettes\ntp00.pcx. Check to make sure the editor is run from the folder where Civilization III was installed.

A have tried reinstalling Civ III Complete, but i get the same error. What am i doing wrong?
