I would suspect that creating a map might be the fastest way to mod the game...

To mod the game, all you need to do is change one line in the one of the XML files. That's pretty easy to do, and takes about 30 seconds.

However, if you're looking for indepth changes, you'll have to put in more time and energy.

Sometimes I wish they have something like the WarCraft3 editor that both has a user friendly layout and allow for professional programming
