My father's computer finally ended its death throes a few weeks ago, and ever since he has been trying to get his contacts from the hard drive (Read: He has been naggging me to do it). The problem is, I don't know if there is even one specific file with Outlook contacts in it, and I have searched his hard drive already, so far in vain. He has a lot of stuff to do today, and a sales meeting tomorrow, and he's really desperate for those contacts. If anyone could tell me if there is any one file I need to be looking for, or even just an extension that it would have, I would greatly appreciate it.

What OS is it? XP?

I'm not sure about the exact file but I would have thought it would be under something like:
c:\documents and settings\~your user name~\application data\microsoft\outlook\
or
c:\documents and settings\~your user name~\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\

Note that you will have to go to the tools menu as the directories are hidden.
Tools > Folder options > View, then click the "Show hidden files and folders" option.

Hope this helps. :)

Well i think they are in a file with a .wab extension
You could try running a search on .wab extensions

Actually the contacts are stored in the adress book which resides in
\Documents and Settings\<you>\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\
only the emails are in
\Documents and Settings\<you>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\<some long string>\Microsoft\Outlook Express\
(should be same with normal outlook afaik)

The Adress book file ends with .wab as t92300 said and the Application Data folder is invisible so you gotta do what Zakharov said to make it visible.
