Hotseat Fix

Oh, is THAT what happens? My cousin was here and we started a hotseat game - the two of us against the AI. Hadn't tried the MP side of PTW until today - I built a city and 2 turns later when I started my turn it had mysteriously turned into a pile of rubble! WTH? That's a MAJOR bug!

Explain. It turned to rubble because you were attacked, correct? Well, it was on the computers turn, so was there anything you could have done about it?

But i know what you mean. I play hotseat a lot. It helps when warring to see where the enemy is going and what he is up to. But it isn't needed, plus it makes it a little more challenging.

No, Benderino, I couldn't have done anything about it. But - I had to go snoop around on the diplo screen to see who I was at war with. And what if he would have gotten a leader out of it? I'd sure like to see that, so I could have a chance at hunting him down.

PBEM has this too (since they are essentially the same game).

This is a huge problem, and really needs to be fixed.

Also the whole AI calculations have to happen in the right order, as player 1 gets all the trade deals since the AI deals all happen after player 2's turn.

The AI move problem also unbalances MA's since the player earliest in the list will never get a chance to move before the AI get a free hit. The last human player will always get to move before an AI attack. This can be very unbalancing in the industrial age with huge AI armies movign around the map.

Re-work the code. It isn't something we can fix - only Firaxis can.

I agree. This is VERY imbalancing. All that is needed is a kinda replay of all moves which you can 'see'.

CIV2 Hotseat had this problem as well, infact any turn based system has this problem, Its like getting up from the Monopoly board during your opponents turn to go to the bathroom, and when you get back No-body will tell you what happened... frustrating... annoying... when its people we get angry at them, maybe because we dont trust they they played fair....but a computer? You know it had to play fair, but you just want to know what it did without having to 'work it out'

Maybe if there was a 'indicator' icon that showed activity in grid ...X,X... or something... an arrow showing troop movement,

If troops have taken your city, you gotta ask yourself, where were they to get NEXT to your city and take it, and How many defences did you have stationed there?

Maybe the developers could at least show a pop up on the first players turn to say if an AI or Human controlled opponent has declared war on them instead of just declaring war out of nowhere, this would at least give the player some warning that some of his cities were about to dissapear or that a large number of units were about to appear in his territory.
