How can I find/make the globaldefines.xml file?

Hi,

New to the forums and modding. Never did a single mod before, ever, but global warming is pissing me off immensely and I've decided to get rid of it completely.

I've looked up the info that I believe will enable me to do that, but my question is really basic: where do I find the damn file? Searching my PC doesn't yield anything but a Civ4.ini file. I've searched all of my asset and custom asset folders in My Games and they're all basically empty.

Do I have to create this file from a copy of something else?

I'm playing Beyond the Sword with the Future War mod btw.

Thanks.

Sounds like you are looking for the vanilla XML files. They are installed in the same location as the exe file itself, meaning it is likely in Program FIles(x86) somewhere. In there you have assets/XML where you would find what you are looking for.

However I would recommend using globalDefineALT.xml instead. It can do the same, but you only have to add the values, which are different from the vanilla values.

Great, thank you! =D I'm playing the steam version so I had to go rooting around in there but I finally found it.
