How do you Delete an Industry?

On the first campaign, you finish the scenario by building a Power Plant in Vegas... However, I goofed, and used the two empty slots for food industries (the pre-existing one is a smelter). Logically, once you own an industry, you *should* be able to destruct it, no? However, I see no ability to do so.

Any advice? Or is this another one for the *next* patch?

I have run into this same problem. Using one of the third slots for a business, I built an automobile manufacturing company in a city that was already producing steel, thinking that since the steel is already there, it could use the steel to produce the cars. This does not work, for some reason a city needs to always import it's required goods and can not use it's own source of goods for production. So I tried to delete this factory only to discover there is no feature that allows you to remove it.

Why can't cities use their own resources for production?

Why can't you delete (close) a factory once started?

hrmm... well this just seems to be one of the facts of the game... just the way it works.... if they wanted you to delete industries i figure they'd have it in the game considering it wouldn't be too difficult to create that functionality...

as far as cities using their own resources... i dunno... moving resources around makes you a lot of money... not sure if i'd want to cut that revenue out of my empire...

The way things had been laid out there was no close available steel to make cars... But I know for a fact that this is a game design f***-up because I loaded a train with some steel from this same city that produced it and redelivered the steel back to it so it then started to produce cars. It's stupid that I had to load it onto a train, take it to a nearby stop and then turn around and bring it back to the same city just to make cars...

All the other cities that needed to ore were already sucking up the available resources. It was my mistake to place the stupid automobile factory in the same city as the stupid steelmill. I have learned it is better just to dump the car maker into an nearby city instead...

Although I could have gained revenue from delivering the steel to the car maker plant the city was already packed full of trains, I didn't want to disrupt their nicelying working flow for a single train to bring in steel.

The only other thing that I am annoyed with this game is the random hard crashes I experience. Ive tried reinstall several times with and without patching without any change.
