If I'm on a conquest rage and taking all the cities (instead of raging them), how do I find out how many tiles my territory covers (land) and how many tiles are needed for domination?

If you want conquest, you better raze those cities, at least many of them. I won by domination once while intending for conquest. If you don't conquer soon enough the game will calculate a domination win. To your question... I don't know where to check.

Mapstat is the easiest way. It is in the utilities section at this site. Counting is the other way.
