I would like to try one of the improved map scripts from steam workshop for a multiplayer because the group i play with hates the default maps, either all one chunk of land or all tiny stringy islands. I can not for the life of me find instructions or clarification on using these map scripts in multiplayer. I click subscribe in my steam. No clue what to do from there. I did read that the recent patch just this month allowed custom map scripts to be used in multiplayer, and a random mention of "emailing the script" but I can't find anything more than that. can anyone give me some guidance on this please?

When you subscribe the mod is added to documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\mods\modname (version)
Put the map in sid meier's civilization v\assets\Maps instead. (by default something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\sid meier's civilization v\assets\Maps)
Everyone you are going to play with has to do this.

Be prepared to save on turn 1 and then reload. When we tried to play custom maps in MP we couldn't get it to work, the map generated differently on everyone's computers. But that could have been an issue with those specific maps.

This seems to have worked so far. Thank you. I'm really liking the small continents deluxe map. It's exactly the kind of map I wanted. except for the one small issue that desert races no longer start anywhere near deserts for some reason.
