anyway the sword fighting sounds come from monty pythons the search for the holy grail.. the scene where the black knight is fighting the guy

How did you figure that one out?

Actually, I think it is the other way around.

I was told that they took the sounds from Civ and used them for the film....but, I could be mistaken. That movie is a riot!

Cool! Now it comes down to who's cheaper, Sid or Monty Python. I have faith in Sid.

I've experienced a lot of this. In the game "Axis and Allies", in the movie where it shows the buy in the bomber, it has the same sound has "3d Movie Maker" and a lot of other games.

There is also "universal" animations.

Check the flame on the cursor.
They used this in practically every game I have! It's been either edited or rendered, but it's always the same flame!

humm.. let's see

monty pythons the search for the holy grail was made in 1975 so you figure it out hehehehehehe

He's got you there Cimfindriel

Speaking about Monty Python...

I think the settler should actually have been a little lumberjack.

By the way,

Can you also figure out who did the defeat music?
At first, I thought the little sad song played when you lose was composed by the Microprose team but several days ago I heard on the radio that music. It was the 3rd symphony of somebody, the speaker said. But who?

Dearly departed,

We are gathered here today to celebrate the passing of a great leader. Though we have only know Cimfindriel for a week and a half his presence will remain within our hearts. To some he was a friend, but to most he was an aspiration; a constant reminder of how we could all become better people, and more importantly, better Civ players. We will miss Cimfindriel dearly...may his soul find everlasting peace and eternal rest.

I will claim ignorance as a defense in this case. I didn't know when it came out, just told by a friend that the sound from the movie was from the game. Chances are...I just heard the wrong thing. So, guess I talked before I thought

This is a silly thread.

And that was a silly reference to Monty Python.

What a complete waste of time.

I cannot for zee life of me decide which ees worse, you filthy English Kuh-niggits, or your silly talk about sillyness! I wag my genitals at the faces of your aunties!! Now cease your ridiculous jibber-jabbering, or I shall taunt you a second time!

Hahah. How ironic I found this thread? We were filming a video this PM for class and my friend wanted me to do the MP scene where the guy comes running towards the camera from the same spot like four times over, then appears right beside the thing! We have that in our film! I come flyin up the street in a big white cape over and over and over!

I warn-ed you, ugly Mesieur Loaf Warden, or should I zay, Oaf Warden, that you would be taunted a second time. You deed not leesten, though deed yew? Hah! Veery well!

You are a smelly wearer of unwashed undergarments, and furthermore your disgusting habit of eating pickled eggs wash-ed down with filthy German beer makes you flatulate like a cow! Now go away, or I shall taunt you a third time!
