I won. But why?

Hi.

Not really sure if this belongs here, but I couldn't find a category that fits. Let's call this a suggestion for Firaxis to make the victory message a bit more obvious.

I won a game, always a good thing. And I've had to check what kind of victory it was before, but this is the first time where I can honestly not see why I won.

Late game, I've wiped out everyone else but China. China still has its original capital, and all 3 Chinese cities follow the Chinese religion. I draw 17 tourists from China, I need 21 to win the cultural victory. And I've only just started working on the Satellite Mission, so we're still a long time from the Space Race victory.

Can anyone tell me why I won?

Come on, nobody?

I just realised I can only get the Cultural Victory if there are at least *two* other players, because I can never draw more foreign tourists from one country than that country has... Or do I miss something here?

I'm quite sure that you've won a culture victory somehow. It should have told you so after the victory video by the way. Do you remember the video? Those are different for all victory conditions.
I can imagine that your tourism made a jump - maybe you researched computers which doubles tourism output? It seems insane that you have 17 tourists and are generating 400 something tourism per turn. 200 tourism can make around 1 tourist per turn, so your 400 something can easily make 2 or 3 (depending on rounding). Maybe with trade routes or something you increased it towards China and are actually making more than 4xx
You can win a culture victory against a single AI.

I won a few unanticipated Cult.Vics, but the numbers tell me this is not one of them. If Computers gives me a boost in tourism, that should be reflected on the slate. The screenshots were made after I had watched the movie, I had to start a new turn after my victory to make them.

About winning against a single civ... Can I really draw more tourists than that other country has? Where do those tourists come from then? I admit I haven't thoroughly studied the math behind the game, so I could be missing something.

Still don't get it.

Anyway, next one was a Science Victory, and it stated that clearly in the victory notification. Stupid bug warned me that I would declare war on Scythia if I nuked their city. Only, I had been at war with them for several turns already. Graph at the end showed that it still counted as a new declaration of war.
