m not sure if this has been said before but ill share anyway. I was thinking of how to make forts useful and get the AI to build them. Suddenly it hit me, make a special resource that requires a Fort to exploit it.
The resource could be almost anything like a "strategic area" resource or "Military cache" resource. Because it requires a Fort to enhance it, the AI should now have a reason to build it. Also because it is protecting a resource, the AI should also have a reason to attack it
The fort gives a bonus of +1
and +2
along with all the other passive bonuses. Just like with other resources, the AI will garrison a unit on top of it to protect it, thus adding to the likelyhood the AI will use it correctly.
