Ignore Move Cost: Sea

Why do land units have this enabled by default? Should this be replicated for custom land units?
 
When similar questions arise I think the best thing to do is just opening in civ editor existing scenarios to be used as reference.
I had a look to SOE beta-test and Cold War scenarios and found that ground units, even those likely to be loaded into sea transports such as marines, do not have "ignore move cost: sea" active. Hence I assume this setting has just no effect for land units.

That is what I've noticed, as well. I've been following the vanilla example and enabling ignore move for sea tiles for land units, just in case. I'd like to see if anyone has noticed any differences in the way the AI behaves with enabled and not. It's something I'm going to put off for future testing, as it's easy enough to enable or disable this ability should it later become apparent that one is better over the other.
