Playing a game as England with 3.5.3, I'm receiving immigrants every several turns. Probably too many, actually, because I don't have enough happiness to keep up nor do the cities they move to have enough food. Anyway I thought the immigration thing was specific to America?

Interesting.

I was playing America this weekend using v3.5.2, whose new special ability is to attract immigrants, except as of turn 334 I hadn't noticed any free immigrants showing up. Glad to see that at least you were getting some.

Just noticed that Thal has now posted today an updated CEG v3.5.3 that fixes the special immigration feature for America.

Hopefully this CEG update will also fix your excess immigration problem.

Actually that's the one I'm using, the "second" 3.5.2. England, large, epic, Communitas map, CAI & CEG, no other mods.

Just introduce a "demographic" system where all citizens' nationality will be shown when you enter the city screen.
For example for a Dutch city with a population of 14, 12 of them are dutch and 2 of them are from say England.

Dutch sovereignty of the city with a majority of its people can have some kind of bonus.
And immigration will weaken the bonus and it can also become more prone to revolt.

Just some thoughts of mine.

I'm getting immigrants regardless of which civ I play. When I found a new city it's up to size 6 after 10 or so turns. It seems like they keep coming about every other turn as long as I haven't fallen into unhappiness. This is good for science I guess but my workers can't keep up so they're working low-yield unimproved tiles and conquest is all but impossible because I can't get enough surplus happiness to take cities.

Is anyone else having this problem?
