So I have had Civ3 installed on 9.2 for a long time and it works great.
I have:
A beige G3/266
640MB ram physical
100GB HD
6MB VRAM
I picked up OS10.2 and tried to install the OSX version of CIV3 on it, and everytime it crashes. Not a normal crash mind you. It gets about to the end of the install I think around the 3,500th file out of 3,550 and then it all goes silent. The machine doesntshut down, the monitor just loses its signal and it does nothing! I restart and try the game to see if maybe it finished and once the main intro screen comes on it gives lots of errors and the game quits. No I know you are supposed to have more processor to run it, and I have a new one on the way. But I figured in the mean time I would check out any other reasons for the problem. Every place says to get a patch, but that seems kind of pointless when the problem is in the installation. Any help would be great!

How is jaguar doing in general, not considering Civ3? Did you upgrade the firmware prior to installing jaguar?

I actually put off using it for a few months because I thought it was wierd, being as that I have used macs for about 15 years. But they have gotten most of the little bugs and whatnot worked out, and I love it. Darn near EVERYTHING is compatible, and more or less plug and play. I went to CompUsa bought a couple Ram chips, a new huge HD, a CDRW, and a cordless keyboard and mouse; and everything worked once plugged in. Couldnt believe it. I highly recommend it.

I've instaled thegame several times (removing the old one first of course) and keep getting the same error message:

Cound not find path because of "/ or \ or .". Of couse the game is full of these symbols. Didn't bother 9.2 doesn't both mpgs or other bames. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated

I'm not sure, but you don't need to install it again for Jaguar. If you installed it once in 9.2, you're fine. I've installed Civ3 once back when I had only 8.6. Since, I've upgraded to 9.2.2 and 10.2.4. The game starts up easily in jaguar all the time.

Try booting up in 9.2 and install the game again, patching it w/ 1.21g of course. Then, reboot in jaguar. The game should play.
