I completed the installation without a problem and then a window came up and said, "Fall from Heaven is locating Beyond the Sword. Click to locate it yourself." I clicked and chose Beyond the Sword, an error message appeared and said, "The file you selected has a faulty MOD file." Before the error message the Fall from Heaven file's symbol changed to the BtS symbol, the coin.
When you install FfH2, a shortcut is placed on your desktop. This shortcut (named "Fall from Heaven 2") is intended to allow you to start FfH2 directly, instead of needing to first launch Civ 4 - but it does not work in certain situations. Your shortcut isn't working, but you should still be able to play FfH2 by following these steps:
1) Start Civ 4
2) At the main menu, choose "ADVANCED"
3) At the next menu, choose "LOAD A MOD"
4) Select "Fall from Heaven 2" from the list of mods
5) Click "OK" (in the lower-right).
This will load FfH2, and you should then be able to play if FfH2 is installed correctly. If "Fall from Heaven 2" is not in the list of mods, or if Civ crashes after you select it and click "OK" then the installation was not completed correctly. If you are able to play the mod then you will need to repeat this process each time you want to play, unless you fix the shortcut (see below).
-------------
If you want to get the shortcut working correctly then you'll need to know the path to your installation of Civ 4.
1) Right-click on the shortcut and click "Properties"
2) Find the "Target:" line and type this (include the quotes, and replace [path] with the path to your installation of Civ 4):
Code:
"[path]\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod=\Fall from Heaven 2
3) Find the "Start in:" line and type this (include the quotes, and replace [path] with the path to your installation of Civ 4):
4) Click "OK".
If the mod is installed correctly and you have used the correct path to Civ 4 then the shortcut should now work, and will launch FfH2 directly.
