Intel 82852/82855 graphics

If anyone has these graphics chips you might be interested to know that I have managed to get mine working after installing the latest patch, 1.62.

The first patch worked as well but not the second for some reason!

The game runs fairly smoothly but some of the background tiles disappear when I am visited by another leader. They often have the cheshire cat appearance but not always, generally early in the game.

I have attached my dxdiag log and a couple of saves in case these help.

I've got the same graphics. Unpatched game had black terrain and cheshire cat leaders. Already the first patch solved it for me. Each patch worked for me. I don't experience disappearing tiles, or perhaps I don't understand what you mean.

Sorry. Some of the terrain tiles turn black for a few seconds and then reappear as normal. It slows the game down for a while each time but it's not a race. Gives me more thinking time! The game never crashes to the desktop as I've read in other threads though.
I did upgrade my RAM to 1gig but not certain whether this made any difference or not. Should have gone the whole hog to 2gig perhaps to see any significant change.
