After having various odd problems with DirectX (all guns dissapearing in Halo) and installing the newest ATI drivers and DirectX (fixed Halo), I have a lingering disabling Civ4 problem. When I open a new game, I have no interface at all.

Here's what I get immediately upon opening a new game:

If I minimize Civ4 then re-open, sometimes I get something like this:

After a while, sometimes, if I minimize and re-open once again I'll be pleasantly greeted with a full, normal, interface (no screen neccesary ;) ).

I'll post a shortened dxdiag for kicks, I can provide anything else that would be helpful. All tests were run and passed.

Edit for clarity.

Yes, I have.

Oh, and I meant to mention that I reinstalled and that didn't help.

Game patched to 1.61 I assume? Have you tried a thorough reinstall? (uninstall, manually erase all leftover files, reinstall, repatch)

I re-re-installed Civ once again and it works. Meh. Thanks for the help though.
