Yo, all. My last SG attempt... sank. Partly my fault, partly others. Ah, who the hell cares, right? So, I'm starting a new one. I'm doing the same thing, and expecting a different result. Isn't that the definition of insanity? Ah, well.

Version: BtS... 3.13
Map Size: Standard
Map: Balanced
Person: Peter of the Russkies
Special Rules: ONE CITY CHALLENGE

Difficulty TBD.

Join now, or be tied to a stake, burned alive, and then drawn and quartered! And then I'll start to have fun...

I really doubt this SG is still running, because IO hasn't been seen around the forums for more than a month. I was part of his first SG, where the player who was up disappeared (coughhackapellcough), and so did he.

What level of difficulty do you play at? The Noble's Club is running 2 parallel SGs right now at monarch level.

I'm sorry about this. I haven't been able to get on lately.

The victory condition I usually aim for is Space. Yes, Space.

gigi, you're on? S.ilver, are you on?

Gigi is down and out for a while with a computer virus, according to a post in another SG thread.

I'm already in 3 SGs, but one is basically in wrap up phase, while the other two are somewhat slow. So it probably wouldn't be a problem to play.

However, I know NOTHING about OCCs so I'll likely need to learn on the fly with this. Also not keen on a high difficulty, as I've heard OCCs significantly ramp up the challenge.

Heh heh heh... you definitely got that right.

Here's what we'll do. Take whatever difficulty you normally play on, and lower it by 6. That will be the difficulty you should play on in an OCC.

The bright side of this, is that...

1. We get 5 National Wonders in one city! FIVE!
a. National Epic (DEFINITELY)
b. National Park (DEFINITELY)
c. Oxford University
d. Moai Statues (if sea start) (DEFINITELY)
e. Can't think of one.

2. Cathedrals, they only take one temple to build. This means we must heavily EMPHASIZE a religious start and keep going with it until we have Islam, and preferably at least 5 religions.

3. You never have to worry about civic upkeep.

Hey: For national wonders, try this:
National Park
Globe Theater
Oxford University
National Epic
Ironworks (pray that you get Coal and Iron);

I actually don't like the Globe Theater, because I almost never want for happiness.

Now if there was a Globe Theater for health...
That's why you use the Moai Statues.

Also, National Park and Ironworks don't go well together, as National Park closes all coal.

Well, this sucks. We still need people over here, alright? Get ovah here!

I'm interested if anyone else is. I've got a promising immortal OCC in single player going on right now, leading in tech and giving the territory leader (well, the erstwhile territory leader) a sound thrashing. My new BTS disk arrived in mid-game, though, so I thought that instead of continuing with a vanilla game I would discover the wonders of expansions in an SG.
