Is anyone afraid that Civilization: Revolution will be similar to Empire Earth III?

Simplifying of gameplay, generalizing and inaccurate history, corny and cartoonish graphics. Not very positive signs for me at least.

Anyone else think so or do you disagree?

This should go in the Civilization: Revolution forum, for starters.

Second, this is game is strictly for the consoles.

Thirdly, CivRev will not be supplanting the "main" branch of the Civilization series. Civilization 5 will be made for the PC, as Padma has reported a number of times.

Aw, okay, didn't know there was a Revolution forums. But you're just disowning it because it's for consoles? You got to admit they are on eerie similar paths.

EDIT: Yeah, a mod can close this thread down, I'll just repost it in the correct forum.

the biggest difference is that Empire earth III is a RTS while Civ is a TBS.

I'm not worried. Even if it is dumbed down to a point where it's just unfun, it isn't a "core" Civ game so all of us who are fans of, for lack of a better term, "real" civ won't be effected. It's not a sequel, so we don't really have any need to buy it if it doesn't suit our interests.

That said, from what I've heard about CivRev, it's looking like it'll be fun. Not nearly as deep as Civ, but a blast to play. And I can't complain about fun.
