I've seen the TV series of many chinese classic like Journey to the west(Si yuo ji), three kingdoms(San guo yan yi), etc.
But since I went the USA when I was 5 and am now a proud US citizen, my chinese reading skills aren't excalty up to par.

I went to Wan Fu Jing in Bejing and the international bookstore, Lo and Behold! Complete texts of "Journey to the west", "Three Kingdoms", "Red tower dream", and "Swamp tigers" translated fully into english. I bought Journey to the west and its great reading.

If "Journey to the West" is the one I'm thinking about (Monkey!!!!), then it truly is a classic. Unfortunately, I only know it from the campy Japanese TV series, but what I remember of that was all good.

Read the originals.. its really gd.. aparently, its based on the author's travel around China as he named several locations in the novel the same as the actual ones.
