JPGs won't save anymore

You all know, when you right click on a picture, you can save the file in its original format. since yesterday, I have always name: "unknown" type "bitmap", when I want to save a JPG. Gifs are doing fine, also some, but very few JPGs. I even tried to save JPGs I loaded up here on CFC myself - same result - BITMAP!???? Does anybody know about this one? Maybe a virus? I am still using Win 98 ME, so Lovsan should not affect my PC.

I found out that it must have something to do with my IE. I tried an old version of Netscape Navigator, it works fine. the same pics that were shown as unknown bitmaps save correct as JPG with their name. But I didn't change anything at my system. really weird.

EDIT: ahh, I had to empty my cache, now it works again, I wonder what causes this. sorry for my little private thread

That's about right. When they won't save as .jpg, you need to flush the cashe. There should be some older threads here regarding this, tho. I don't recall if it was ever said why this happens. Maybe when the search option is turned back on. . .
