In civ 1 each civilization has its leader, and as such, he influences our way of seeing that civilization. The question is which leader do you like most, and which leader do you hate?

In my opion the leader i like the most is caesar of the romans, because i think he is a fair and civilized leader (and he is my heroe after alexander of the greeks :)). The leader i hate the most is..... well, i have 2, Shaka od the Zulu people, and Stalin of the Russian, both because their excessive agressiveness and atitude agaisnt us.

I know why you hate shaka, cuz your racist! nah just kidding

   , me? racist!? not a chance, but try lead with him several times: Even you are stronger than him, he will begin to demand you money and begin to make war...
By the way, you dont asnwer my question: which leader do you mike the most...

It's hard to tell since the leaders don't differ very much in their behaviour during negotiations (at least I didn't notice any). Sometimes Mahatma Gandhi is as stubborn and aggressive as Stalin.
The only leaders I really like during a game are the ones I'm able to suppress early, ho-hum! :D

well, but there are much diferences in negociating with, for instance, Elizabeth, or Lincoln and negociating with Stalin or Shaka....

As I said, I didn't notice any. A strong Indian Civ is likely to attack randomly and break treaties as a Russian. At least this is what I experienced over all these years playing. In my last game the Chinese were as treacherous and demanding (those sneaky devils!) as the Russians.

And this is also reflected in the negotiations. Most of the time it simply depends on the relation between your Civ and the other, in terms of troops, techs and cities - not on the Civs or their leaders.
One of the weaknesses of the whole Civ series up to C3C. Which was resolved beautifully in SMAC, where I could really rely on the leader's personality.

But the capability of that civilizations reach the situation of having lots of troops, or lots of technology, or lots of cities is determined by the actions of the AI, which acts verifying each leader's capability, i think.....

Definitely! The way the leaders build their Civs do differ a lot - and therefore their place in "leader's ranking", when they negotiate with you. But I still do miss the personal charisma itself shining through in the way they behave.

Of course, we're talking about the AI of a game of 1991, put on 1.9 MB disc space - for that, they're acting more believable than many of their latter counterparts from other games ...

lol, the charisma is the capability of doing these actions without be much agressive....

But what i meant in charisma was which leader do you like to play against....
