For those who like classic mode of civ, a suggestion:
1. Choosing a civ within the recommended Age (e.g. Hawaii in Exploration) provides the usual perks.
2. Choosing a civ in an era before its recommended Age (e.g. Hawaii in Antiquity) provides less perks -- disabled unique unit, but better yields for unique buildings. This will change when the civ reaches their recommended Age.
3. Choosing a civ in a later era (e.g. if you want to continue playing as Hawaii in Modern Age), provide less perks to unique buildings (just like what happens to not ageless buildings) but provide boosts to unique units.
